The student television station of Providence College

PCTV is a creative space where students connect and collaborate to produce high-quality videos that are entertaining and informative to the PC community. We give our members a platform to showcase their creativity and make videos that are important to them. As a result, our videos are completely student driven and constantly evolving to fit the minds of the members.

PCTV is split into three departments: News, Sports, and Entertainment. Each department has a specialized team of students that work together to write, film, edit, and promote their videos. All of our content is student produced–from concept to finished product, giving our members plenty of opportunities to learn every aspect of video production. With access to our professional-grade equipment and editing software, members gain valuable hands-on experience that looks great on a resume!

If you are interested in any of these topics (and/or just want to meet new friends) consider joining PCTV:

Meet our team

LEAH LAMORTE : President of PCTV

Hi, my name is Leah and I am a senior marketing major from Pawling, New York. Growing up I’ve always enjoyed making funny videos with my neighbors and posting them to YouTube. I was ecstatic when I came to Providence College and realized that I could continue a hobby that I loved when I was younger. I’ve made some of my best friends through PCTV and it’s very easy to look back on our memories together—they’re always filmed!

JOE AHART : Vice President of Production

My name is Joe Ahart; I am a member of the Class of 2018, and currently study humanities and film! One of the reasons I joined PCTV was to find a place to channel my creative ideas for film and television. Never having been a part of a television club before, I wanted to experience the feeling of working and creating ideas with a team. Being able to collaborate, organize, and schedule content creation has been not only an amazing experience with friends, but has also helped me improve in many personal ways, like my communication abilities and learning to express my ideas. PCTV is a great place for anyone with either a burning passion or a slight interest in media!

JUSTIN GALLO : Vice President of Administration

Justin Gallo is a crucial member of the PCTV community.  He acts as the eternal flame that keeps the club warm and provides enlighten ideas.  Justin's brightness is not restricted to flame puns but encompasses the vast field of administration.  He is quoted in saying, "Yes, I love PCTV, But not as much as you, you see, But I still love PCTV, Always and forever."  These immortal words by one of the club's most illuminating members still resonates in the hearts of all past, present, and future PCTV members.

ALEX POCH : Vice President of Technology

My name is Alex and I’m a junior Computer Science Major from New Egypt, New Jersey. I’ve always loved watching and making movies, and when I came to Providence College, I joined PCTV because the people there shared the same interests. Whenever I have a long day of classes and homework, I look forward to PCTV meetings to bring the fun back into my day!

KATE NASH : Entertainment Department Producer

Hi there! My name is Kate Nash and I am a junior marketing major from Groton, Massachusetts. I joined PCTV the spring of my freshman year, and I have loved this club ever since. PCTV has given me the opportunity to express my creativity as well as collaborate with other creative minds. I love the Entertainment Department because there is an immense amount of freedom. Some of my favorite videos are the ones that we do not plan!

JASMINE ZHOU : Entertainment Department Producer

My name is Jasmine and I am a junior marketing major from Boston, Massachusetts (yes I live in a city). I love going on spontaneous adventures, meeting new people, and going to concerts. I joined PCTV because I have always been interested in the digital and media aspects of marketing. I started out as a general member in the spring of 2016, but loved the club and the people so much that I became a department head with one of my best friends. Being a part of PCTV is definitely a fun experience and you can see the interesting/creative side of PC students through our videos!

ABBIE SCOTT : News Department Producer

My name is Abbie Scott and I am the News Producer for PCTV. I am a junior from Westford, MA and a marketing major. I am really interested in broadcasting so I joined PCTV as it is a perfect outlet for me to learn the ins and outs of the news world! My news and sports interests are able to be met through PCTV which I am truly grateful for. I love how PCTV brings people together of such similar interests, while also creating new friendships.

EMILY TABEEK : Sports Department Producer

Hi! I’m Emily and I’m a junior marketing major from Quincy, MA. Sports have always been a major part of my life. I grew up playing every sport I could until focusing on soccer, hockey, and lacrosse in middle and high school. I’ve always been fascinated with the overall atmosphere at sporting events- the cheering, the music, the videos and graphics playing on the jumbotron. The overall build up and production makes the game all the more exciting. It’s moments and reactions like these that drew me into pursuing marketing as a major and what further drew me into wanting to explore sports media through PCTV. Although Providence College doesn’t offer any majors related to sports media or communications, PCTV has provided me with an outlet to explore this interest on my own and with peers that share similar interests. Not to mention that we get to make videos about the best teams and athletes around-Go Friars!

JOHN CHATFIELD : Entertainment Department Producer

Hi, my name is John, and I'm head of the Entertainment Department for the Spring Semester. I'm a junior English major/film minor from Attleboro, Massachusetts, and I've loved movies for as long as I can remember. I was introduced to PCTV during my first year at Providence, and after participating in the film festival, I knew it was a perfect fit. Writing and directing has since become one of my biggest passions; whether it's a sketch comedy short or a bigger-scale production, you can find me on set!

CHRISTINA MARCHETTI : News Department Producer

Hi everyone! My name is Christina and I am a sophomore marketing major from Lincoln, Rhode Island. For as long as I can remember, I have always had an interest in broadcasting, and always dreamt of being a news anchor when I was younger, so when I found out that PC had a television club, I was ecstatic! PCTV has introduced me to a wide variety of amazing and talented people who I have been lucky enough to get close to and network with, and I couldn’t be more excited for the year ahead!

MATT ST. JEAN : Sports Department Producer

Hi, my name is Matt and I’m from Newtown, Connecticut. I’m a political science major planning on minoring in business and economics. As a fourth generation Friar, I’ve grown up around Providence athletics and have always been a huge sports fan.  I am very excited to combine my love of sports with the power and creativity of film!
